Actress / Voice Over
Welcome to my website!
By day I am a mild mannered underwriting assistant for an insurance company. Evenings and weekends, I unleash my true passion, performing on stage!
Since 1999 I have performed with a group called ACTS at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, Arizona. Two Sundays a month, we perform 5-10 minute ‘slice of life’ scenes that accompany the church service. I have participated in the group in every possible capacity: actor, voice over work, assistant director, director, light/sound tech, set design, set construction & props manager; everything but sweeping up after the elephants!
A few years ago a sister group was formed, MasterPeace Productions which combines church and community artists. One of their ventures has been to produce a full length show each summer. Past productions include "You Can't Take It With You", "Sentimental Journey" - an original 1940's musical review, "Arsenic & Old Lace" and most recently "Shaboom!" an original 1950's musical review. I have been privileged to participate in all of these productions.
I have spread my wings outside the church walls stepping into community theatre. Click on Showcase to see photos from several of the shows I've been in.
April 23, 2008 I took on one of my most challenging rolls. I underwent Gastric Bypass surgery (stomach stapling). It is a tool in my weight loss effort, not a cure or easy fix. Go to the Links page for a link to the Bariatric Center where I had the procedure done. As of 3/14/09, 11 months after surgery, I've lost 90 pounds and I feel great! My blood preasure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels are normal. My sleep apnea is gone. My joints don't ache, I move more easily, I don't tire as quickly and I look better! I can cross my legs like a lady and for the first time in close to 20 years, I can sit cross-legged!
The picture at the top of this page was taken 8/2/08 and reflects a 59 pound loss.
